Coonelly

Coonelly? Ok, it's a little rediculous, but some people do that sort of thing. As our wedding draws nearer I can't help but think the days of my being a Cooney are numbered. When I first asked CK if he'd care if I changed my name or not, I didn't expect much of a reaction since he's super mellow, but he really perked up! I had no idea it meant so much to him to change my name and while I guess I had planned to change it all along, I feel like I have more of a reason to now, especially in a time where more and more women are keeping their maiden name. The transition from C to K won't be much of a change phonetically, but it brings with it a torrent of paperwork. I've seen many recent posts on a favorite wedding blog about the stresses of name changing.

On the second link you'll spot what I've had bookmarked in my links for a while now.

MissnowMrs.com has "come to the rescue" of brides who are changing their names by giving ladies all the necessary forms in one spot and autofilling as you go along! The reviews seem pretty great and after seeing the list of the forms I'd have to hunt down (so far I've found.. 3) I'm thinking the $30 will be worth it. A nice wedding gift to myself!

Not all of those forms will be entirely useful, professional license notification letter.. mortgage notification letter.. but there are at least 10 good ones and a few maybes. $3 a form? Not so bad if it saves me from having to hide bald spots where I pulled my hair out from trying to find and fill out the forms myself. Now I can enjoy my last few month of having initials that don't spell anything and look forward to a smooth transition to Mrs K.
