Looks Can be Deceiving

This weekend is the fourth of July! While we'll be squeezing in some socializing and patriotic colored desserts (if someone will make them for us), we'll hopefully spend time working on our invitations. DIY invites may seem easy, and they could be, unless you see 101 tutorials on little details you can add here and there and everywhere. Round the corners? Sure I'll do that.

Painted edges. Doesn't that look nice? I'll come up with my own "easy" way of doing that thank you.

Then you find yourself after work at the fabric store and saying "wow they have lots of ribbon to chose from, wouldn't that be nice around the invitations."

Followed by several trips back to that same store, each one staring at the giant section of grey ribbon that kinda sorta matches the grey on your invitations but not really. Then you realize the one that kinda sorta matches the most in natural light is not the one that kinda sorta matches the most in florescent light. "Dear guests, please view invite in natural light only..."

This has been my week. So cherish that bit of ribbon that you'll discard from the invite absentmindedly, rounded corners that may otherwise go unnoticed, and painted edges that we had to do one by one because I came up with my "own way" of doing things. Happy 4th of July!
