MY Dress!

Sized, purchased, DONE! It's by La Sposa, a Pronovias line - which my mom and I discovered in England last spring. We had gone into Harrods to shop for wedding dresses on a whim. Unfortunatly I never tried any on, oh you need an appointment? But I kept revisiting the designer's website ever since. I saw dress I liked on another bride who was featured on a site I visit.  I contacted her and she searched out dresses that were similar to hers and behold she pointed out La Sposa! What a nice bride! I called around but could not find the dress I wanted anywhere (even though I checked SF, PA, MD since I'd be traveling over Christmas).

On my last call to a tiny place in MD, M'Jourdelle, the seller said she had a 'sister' dress that was the same form but different style.  Then I mentioned that I'd heard the dress was being discontinued in Jan '09 even though it's only a '08 dress. She called the designer to make sure I could get the dress if we put in the order early January and to confirm that the 'sister' dress would be the same fit. How nice is that!? Other's just offered to order it for me - for a higher price! We drove from our NYE location 3 hours AND the best part was my bridesmaid Jackie offered to drive 2.5 hours to meet me at the store - so sweet! I couldn't have decided without her. No pictures of me trying it on, but I was able to talk my mom to THE dress on the internet so she could approve before I purchased.  A lot of folks really came through for me to help me find my dress and I can't wait to meet it in 4-6 months!
