Not the Dress, the hunt continues

I know everyone who loves us is waiting to hear some new news on the wedding.  It's coming. I promise.  Hopefully .. dare I say it.. next week.  Christopher is also trying very hard to come up with a blog post to fill the time between our indecision.

I do have a smidgen of news, two dresses were kindly sent to me from Saja, a designer that just started making bridal gowns in NYC.  The pictures I saw online where cute, but as I later realized, the photos did not depict the dresses well at all.  Here is what I saw online.

They did say it had beading but you'd think it was super subtle from the photos, right? Not at all. The beading was in your face, and some of it even had silver thread outlining the patterns. Not for me.  And yes they sent one in blue for some reason so it makes the beading worse, but one was ivory and it still was way too much.  We did get this funny photo out of them - Thank you coworkers for coercing me to do this:

Tonight I am going to try more dresses on, and think about getting one made.  I've printed out a montage of necklines and details that I like on certain dresses to bring with me incase I decide custom is the way to go.   Here is where I am off to:  Novella Bridal  in SF.  I found them through the Pronovias site - I was first introduced to this dress designer at Harrods in London this past May.  My mom and I thought we'd check out Harrod's bridal department - but discovered you don't get into those dresses without an appointment!  Well I'll get into them tonight.  Wish me luck!
