I Dream of Cake

This past Friday we had our first California cake tasting appointment. We went to I Dream of Cake in San Francisco, just a short walk from our offices. You can see the box of samples we brought home in the photo, and you can see these cakes were already iced and stacked, different from Wendy Kromer's presentation. We really enjoyed some of the cakes, but not any of the chocolate cakes.  The chocolate needed to be kicked-up and it was strangely grainy. Some of the other flavors were just ok too, like the lemon didn't live up to its "zesty" name, and the raspberry wasn't at all tart. That said, the carmel, the banana, and for chris the coconut, were really yummy. Cake tasting is so fun. We have one more up in Napa on the 9th - closer the location we're checking out for our wedding.
