It's a blog!

After disliking and avoiding our prefab wedding website, we've become bloggers. Since our engagement in May we've accomplished a lot.. of nothing. Not because we haven't been trying. First we wanted a wedding that was home-towny since we share the same hometown. But our home town is small, which means not many wedding venues, and even fewer.. well none, that felt like us. Deepest thank yous to my parents for taking up thier weekends to travel and photograph all over western pa for us. And we really want the wedding to be an experience, a fun experience, for everyone that comes and well.. western PA doesn't have too much going on. (but we do love our hometown)

Then we tossed our net further, and I mean further! All the way to Italy. We were in Europe together last summer and loved it. We had the perfect placed picked out in the hills of Tuscany, great views, friendly cat, great tiramisu, But after checking airfare prices we were pretty sure only my parents would definately make it there to join us - if we could even afford to send ourselves!

It's been hard to try to find a place in PA.. or Italy.. being in California. We talked about how nice it would be to have the wedding here, near San Francisco. It's still a "destination" for our friends and family who don't live here, and since we intend to move back east sometime it'd be a nice memory of the place we once lived to get married here. So the search has began in the wine country! We've had a few good responses and are hopeful we can pull this off. If not, I am visiting PA in october to see one more place and meet with a caterer we contacted months ago, so perhaps we have a backup plan.
