We took a lot of photos before our ceremony. We did a first look, pictures at our old high school, pictures at my parent's house, but I still needed a few pictures of everyone at the alter post-ceremony! Those are the sort of photos I remember from my grandparent's wedding and my parent's wedding. The classic just-married-and-posing-at-the-alter-with-your-family portraits.
My parents, and the only picture where I don't look like a statue.
Then it was time for a around with our wedding party. But wait, where are half the groomsmen? No where to be found was where. I put on my crazy bride face and sent the other guys to find them. Next think I knew our photographers had left for the reception. I'm not sure how, when, or why it happened but they were both gone. Luckily our friend Devin had his camera, and though we were asking him to do video of the day, he took some great stills for us when our groomsmen finally appeared. I guess some of them had no idea there were more pictures to be taken, and had left to get some personal things for the reception. I'm sure the time that they were gone was about ten minutes, but it felt like an hour! Ahk!
Trying to shake things off, we got back into picture mode and Devin worked his magic. (Pictures from here on are taken by our friend.)

Then Devin got a little creative with us..

And a little more..

Let's just say he saved my sanity on more than one occasion that day!

Despite having to wait for our groomsmen to come back we were pretty ahead of schedule. It could be partially due me completely forgetting to take any pictures outside the church. We don't even have any pictures of us with the church in the background! It was a little drizzly outside but I wish we would have taken a moment to get those pictures too. Looking back I think I was so focus on getting the pictures that were unique to our wedding, that it was easy for me to forget things I assumed we'd remember - like taking pictures with the church!

We didn't leave the church among clouds of bubbles or falling flower petals. Instead we left quietly, with all our guests already at the reception. It was a nice little moment of regrouping before the reception. Chris and I had spent nearly no time alone that day and even though we weren't exactly alone when we left the church I feel like we had a moment to catch our breath together and enjoy our newlywed status.

Our mini bus was waiting outside the chapel to take us to the reception and tour groups students visiting the campus were stopping to gawk at us. I said it before - I really wish I had practiced holding my dress up since the ground was wet!
Lucky for us Jesse remembered to grab our "Just Married" sign for the back of the bus. I thought it went with our High School Sweetheart/mini bus theme.

Everyone gathered into our mini bus and we were on our way! This picture makes me love my bridesmaids so much. They really did a great job picking out their own dresses. I love how they sort of go together and sort of don't all at the same time.
Our reception isn't the disaster we expected it to be! Somehow things really came together.
Photos were taken by RAD photography with occasional additional editing by me, Unless otherwise noted.
